Alto Club Praia do Vau apartments, (some with air conditioning but do please check with us at the time of booking) offer an alternative for those who prefer a slightly quieter setting and are adjacent to the Alto Club fairways. These properties, enjoying the use of shared pools, are popular with both families and golfers. They provide the same high standards of furnishing and decor synonymous with Alto properties, whilst still providing full access to all the facilities at the main resort. Apartments are situated 1.5km to Praia do Vau beach, 1km to minimarket, bars and restaurants and and 3km to Alvor.

Alto Club Praia do Vau villas tend to be built on larger plots than those found at the main resort. Set in their own private gardens, most having views over the golf course, these individually owned properties are furnished to a high standard with everything you need for comfort and convenience. With private pools (some can be heated but please do check with us at the time of booking) and air conditioning, (please check at the time of booking) these villas still have full access to all the main resort facilities.

The course at Alto Golf situated between Alvor and Praia da Vau, was opened in 1991 and quickly became recognized as one of the finest golf courses in the Algarve. The exclusive 18 hole par 72 Alto golf course is situated just 5 minutes drive from the main Alto Country Club and within walking distance of the Alto golf course apartments. 

Alto Golf was the last course designed by Sir Henry Cotton. Spread over two valleys, the course measures 6,125m from the back tees and boasts all the fine features normally found on a golf course near the sea, including wide, rolling fairways and challenging sloping greens, with stunning views of Portimao and the Monchique Mountains as a backdrop. The Alto golf course has its own luxurious clubhouse with a spacious, elegantly appointed bar and restaurant overlooking the 18th green.  

A short drive or taxi journey from Alto Club, Praia do Vau, leads to the charming fishing village of Alvor. It is one of the prettiest locations in the west Algarve and boasts many restaurants and bars to suit all tastes.  This is truly a place for the whole family to enjoy and many of our clients return year after year to enjoy the warm Algarve climate, the fantastic beaches and the wide choice of food and drink at reasonable prices.
